At every school we would like to have (if we don't already) a small group of 6-10 couples who act as a "school committee", providing support and encouragement for that specific school's leaders and ministry. It’s not a large time commitment and it’s super helpful and impactful! No interaction with students - just encouragement and support for the leaders.
Being on your school committee is easy, and doesn't require that much time - Here is the basic list of "requirements" that we ask of each school committee member -
1. Attend the 3 (Fall, Winter, Spring) gatherings/committee meetings a year in your local community. This meeting is just the leaders and your school committee getting an update and a chance to encourage your leaders.
2. Be supportive. As you learn about the leaders and their lives through your quarterly meetings lean into ways you can be helpful.
3. Help with the annual NKY area banquet or celebration. (usually fall). There is no financial commitment to help, just be helpful as a table host.
4. Pray regularly for the leaders and pray for the high school kids to come to Christ. Add the leaders, the students and their requests to your prayer time!
5. Be willing to talk to others in the community about Navigators if they have questions. Be an advocate to other parents as needed.
6. Serve on this group for at least for one school year, but serve as many years as you would like!
